Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to be considered?

You must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US. Pacific Seafood is an E-Verify employer and complies with all applicable laws.

What is housing like?

Housing varies per locations. Please contact our recruiting team to learn more regarding housing details at each respective processing plant.

Are there set pre-set schedules – How many hours will I work?

Workdays can vary day-to-day and location-to-location. We are committed to sustainable practices to ensure we continue to have resources for future years. This means that there are certain times where there will be little to no work, and times where our plants are operating around the clock, with team members working up to 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Hours are based on industry regulations and the availability of product to process.

When will I get breaks/lunch while working?

Breaks are provided every 2 hours and a 30-minute meal period after 4 hours worked. Breaks are paid, while meal periods are unpaid.

Can I work with my family and/or friends?

Yes, you can request to work at the same location as family or friends. We do not guarantee, however, that you will be able to share a room if housing is provided.

What is the process of getting hired?

You will need to first apply online by searching for the position and location you’re interested in working (You may apply for multiple locations). From there, a recruiter will contact you after your application is received. You may also sign up to attend an on-site or virtual hiring event, when available, which can be done directly on our careers website.

When will I be paid?

Pay periods are bi-weekly. The work week starts on Sunday and goes through Saturday. You will be paid for two work weeks, the following Friday from the end of each pay period. Direct deposit is our preferred option for all payroll; and pay cards are available for those who do not have a bank account.

What do I need to bring to complete the hiring process?

You will need to provide documentation to complete your I-9/E-Verify process. If you do not bring this information, we are unable to hire you, and you will not be allowed to begin working until you provide the correct, required identification documentation.

What should I bring with me?

You will need to provide your own personal hygiene products and personal clothing. Pacific Seafood will provide any needed PPE/Safety equipment for your respective role. When packing, please be mindful that housing options vary, and many locations do not have a large space for your personal items. We recommend only bringing one suitcase or duffel bag and a small personal bag. The plants can be colder than you are used to. As such, please be sure to bring warm clothing that you can layer to keep warm at work.

How will I get to the plant?

Please speak to a recruiter during the interview process regarding transportation to the plant. Most of our plants are located on the west coast in small communities, with many not having airports close to them.
